Full-service carrier Vistara's bookings and check-in process were disrupted across airports today due to a technical glitch in its passenger service system, Amadeus Altea Suite.

The disruption was for about 20 minutes, but it didn't have bearings on the airline's operations, Vistara said.

The Spanish travel technology firm Amadeus' Altea Suite is a complete passenger service system, currently used by over 100 airlines across the world.

"Both the passenger reservation and check-in system across airports remained non-functional for close to 20 minutes due to a technical glitch in the Amadeus Altea Suite," a Vistara spokesperson said.

The system could be restored only at about 3.15 pm, he said, adding the snag, however, did not impact the airline's flight operations.

When contacted, officials at both Mumbai and Delhi airport said there was no impact of the system failure at their airport's overall operations.

In a statement to PTI, Amadeus confirmed the disruption to some of its system.

"Amadeus can confirm that our systems are recovered and are now functioning normally. During the morning, we experienced a network issue that caused disruption to some of our systems. As a result of the incident, customers experienced disruption to certain services," an Amadeus spokesperson said in a statement.

Amadeus technical teams took immediate action to identify the cause of the issue and mitigate against the impact on customers, it said.

Amadeus regrets any inconvenience caused to customers, the global travel solutions services provider added.
