Visually challenged cricketers killed in road mishap in Kerala

Two visually challenged cricketers, on their way to Kochi to participate in a meeting of the Cricket Association for Blind in Kerala, were today killed when a state-owned KSRTC bus allegedly hit them at the bus-depot here.

The mishap occurred when the two victims, Rateesh (29) player-cum -manager and Vinod (31), both from Palakkad district, were waiting to board a bus for Kochi this morning, association sources said.

Some other passengers seeing the approaching bus, which went out of control, ran helter-skelter and were saved, police said.
