Vizag: man arrested in bag-snatching case

The city police today arrested a man allegedly involved in a case of bag-snatching here.

Two persons riding a bike with registration number 6184 had snatched a bag containing Rs five lakh from Ch Subrahmanyam as he stepped out of the State Bank of India branch on the Jail Road on July 31 this year.

ADCP (crimes) S V Raju told pressmen that the accused had committed a similar offence in Guntur in this year and during the investigation the police there found some clues. The bike was found abandoned at Vijayawada Railway Station.

It led police to Zorabganj in Katihar district of Bihar where Siva Kumar Yadav was arrested.
 

Of the Rs 5 lakh stolen here, police recovered about Rs 1.38 lakh. Police were now looking for other two accomplices of Yadav.
