Vizag: sub-inspector, constable in ACB trap

The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) officials caught a police sub-inspector and a constable from III-Town (Waltair Zone) while accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh from a businessman here today.

The accused were identified as sub-inspector G Ramarao and constable P Lakshmana Rao.

DSP (ACB) Visakhapatnam, M Narasimha Rao said the SI had demanded Rs 1.5 lakh from Dinesh Modi of RK Family Shop for not opening 'rowdy-sheet' against him and his brother Rajkumar Modi and to give 'station bail'. The amount was later negotiated to Rs one lakh.
