Residents doctors of Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) of Sarfadjung hospital here have decided to go on a strike tomorrow to protest against the alleged high-handedness of police and administration against the junior doctors in Kanpur.

"We will be going on a symbolic strike tomorrow. However, whether to continue the strike or not will be decided tomorrow evening," said a resident doctor.

IMA has also called for a strike tomorrow.

Due to the strike, the OPD services are likely to get affected while the emergency services have been kept out of it.

Expressing solidarity with the doctors on strike in Uttar Pradesh, and demanding action against the MLA Irfan Solanki and suspension of SSP Yashashvi Yadav, resident doctors of AIIMS along with the Members of the Faculty Association of AIIMS, Students Union and Society of Young Scientists took out a candle-light vigil yesterday.

The doctors from other medical colleges including AIIMS are yet to decide upon joining the strike.

Doctors of all medical colleges across Delhi also observed a 'black badge day' yesterday as a gesture to support the ongoing strike by the doctors in Kanpur and all other medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh.
