Vohra asks officials to visit firing-hit areas in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today asked the divisional authorities to visit the firing-hit areas along the international border in Jammu district and assess the ground situation.

The Governor directed the Divisional Commissioner and the Inspector General of Police, Jammu to immediately visit the areas affected by cross-border firing incidents in Arnia and R S Pura sub-sectors to assess the ground situation, a Raj Bhawan spokesman said.

He has asked them to extend all necessary assistance to the affected people. He has also directed that special medical care should be provided to the injured.

The Governor has wished speedy recovery to civilians injured due to heavy firing last evening.
