Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today asked authorities to expedite ongoing work on the bridge over Jhajjar rivulet, which will connect Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University with the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
During a meeting held at Raj Bhavan here, Vohra reviewed status of the work and stressed for speedy completion of the project, an official spokesperson said.
Upon completion, the bridge will provide a direct connectivity from NH-1 to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University and the upcoming Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence at Kakryal.

He added that once the Jammu-Katra rail link is opened and the Institute of Medical Excellence being set-up by the Shrine Board becomes operational, the flow of traffic on this road is bound to increase manifold.
Principal Secretary to the Governor and CEO of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Navin K Choudhary, among other officials, was also present on the occasion.
