Vohra released the book at a function at Raj Bhawan here last evening in presence of Gen Singh, who retired as Chief of Army Staff before taking on the gubernatorial assignment, and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, an official spokesman said.
Senior officers from the army, police, civil administration and people from literary circles were present at the book release function.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor expressed hope that the approaches mentioned in the book would help in strengthening civil-military relations and enhance the confidence which serving and retired army personnel and security forces enjoy.
He said the Army and other security forces have been performing an invaluable role in guarding the frontiers and "we need to thank them."
Vohra said Gen Singh has been doing an excellent job as Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and congratulated him for writing about his service to the nation.
General Singh gave a brief resume of the book and dwelt on the aims of writing his autobiography.
He said that it took him almost five years to complete the book.
