Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today expressed grief over the demise of Sheikh Nazir, the former general secretary of National Conference and uncle of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah.
In a message of condolence to Omar Abdullah, the Governor has conveyed his sympathy and prayed for the departed soul.
Several leaders of the state too have expressed grief over the demise of Nazir.

Expressing his sympathy with the members of bereaved family, Tarigami said death of Nazir has created a void in the political spectrum of the state and especially in the National Conference.
He said Jammu and Kashmir has lost a great and visionary leader who always stood for the weaker sections of the society.
Saifuddin Soz, president, JKPCC, has also expressed grief over the death of veteran NC leader.
"I express my deepest anguish on the sad demise of Sheikh Nazir, general secretary, Jammu Kashmir National Conference," Soz said.
