Voter registration: Special enrolment camp for NE students

A special enrolment camp for students from the northeast was organised here on the last day of voter registration today in which 550 applicants turned up.

Although registration of voters would continue, their names will not be added in the final voters' list for the Lok Sabha polls, according to officials.

The deadline for eligible persons to get their voter IDs was till midnight today.

There are 1.20 crore electors according to the electoral roll published on January 31, 2014, comprising 66.84 lakh male and 53.76 female.

According to officials, over four lakh new voters have been added since then.
 

Over 1.7 lakh new voter enrolment forms were received at special camps set up across Delhi on Sunday for people to enrol and verify their names in electoral rolls.

The gender ratio of the present electoral roll is 804 as against 868 of 2011 census.
