The Voters Verifiable Paper Audit Trial System will be introduced at Chennai Central constituency by the Election Commission for the April 24 Lok Sabha polls.

This facility would enable a voter to see a printout of the symbol of the candidate for whom he has voted through a glass window, Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar said in a statement here today.

The image printout would be retained in the machine, he said.

The facility would be provided to all 1,153 polling stations of Central Chennai constituency and training to handle the systems would be given by Election Commission in Delhi, he said.
