People in Haryana have made up their mind to elect HLP as an alternative in the upcoming assembly polls, party president Gopal Kanda claimed here today.
Before filing his nomination from here, he said while addressing a gathering that "the response and love of the local people has shown that they have made up their mind to accept the HLP as a political alternative in the ensuing assembly polls".
"I am not here with the promises, I am here with the right intentions. HLP manifesto is not just the announcements, it is our oath letter. After forming the government in the state all the announcements will turn into the implementations with the immediate effect," Kanda said.
He promised that Rs 51,000 would be given to every girl for her marriage. Besides, on the birth of a girl child, Rs 5,100 would be given to her family every month till she reaches 18 years, he said.
He said that the HLP will get insurance benefits to every shopkeeper in the state.
"Every women employee would get 13 months' salary in span of year and the backlog of the SC, BC category would be filled within fixed time," he said.
Delighted with the gathering, Kanda said "your presence is a sign of that he would win the polls."
He also lambasted Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for allegedly blocking Haryana's share of river waters under a conspiracy and now appealing for votes in favour of a political party in Haryana.
"People of the state are now awakened. Badal will have to clear his agenda on Haryana's share of water in Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal," he said.
Kanda, who is facing trial in an abetment to suicide case of an air hostess in his now-defunct airlines, promised that, if the HLP would form the government, he would ensure jobs to all educated unemployed youths.
Earlier, he announced second list of 41 candidates fielded by his party. Before that he had announced 40 contestants. HLP is contesting all 90 seats in the state.
Kanda, once a close associate of former chief minister Om Parkash Chautala, had won the 2009 assembly polls as an independent. Later, he extended support to Congress Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
