Vice President Hamid Ansari today strongly condemned the deadly Naxal attack on CRPF personnel in Chhattisgarh, saying there cannot be any justification for such heinous acts and the perpetrators must be found and punished for their crimes.

"I am deeply shocked to learn about the attack in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh in which a number of CRPF personnel lost their lives," the vice president said in a message from the Armenian capital Yerevan where he is on an official visit.

In one of the deadliest attacks, Naxals ambushed a CRPF contingent in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district yesterday, killing at least 25 personnel.

"There cannot be any justification for such heinous and reprehensible acts. The perpetrators must be found and punished for their crimes," Ansari said.

The vice president offered his sincere condolences to the families of the CRPF jawans who were killed in the line of duty and also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Ansari is in Armenia on the first leg of his two nation trip, during which he will also travel to Poland.
