It was an opportunity of a lifetime for two widows from Vrindavan when they got a chance to pose in front of the Eiffel Tower and participate in one of Europe's biggest photo exhibition, the "Montier-en-der festival photo".
93-year-old Manu Ghosh and 70-year-old Gaurvani Sheel of Meerasahabhagini Ashram in Vrindavan, spent a week in the small French city of Montier-en-der participating in various conferences and lectures. They were accompanied by founder of Sulabh International Bindeshwar Pathak.
"The trip was not just a foreign trip for us...I got a chance to represent thousands of widows of Vrindavan and Varanasi at the international festival," said Manu Ghosh on her return to India today.
After organising Holi and Deepawali celebrations for these widows, Pathak had arranged the foreign trip to give them a sense that they are not neglected any more, a NGO release said.
