VS to attend late CPI-M leader Ramani's centenary

Veteran CPI-M leader and former Kerala chief minister V S Achuthanandan will be among the leaders who would attend the centenary celebrations of late K Ramani, the founding father of the party in this region, on September 25 here.

A four-time MLA and one-time MP, Ramani was instrumental in organising trade union in textile mills in this belt and himself being a mill worker was in trade union activity for 60 years.

Achuthanandan would be the main speaker at the celebrations, a CPI-M release said.

Rajya Sabha member T K Rangarajan, Central Committee member, P Sampath and former MPs P R Natarajan and K Subbarayan will be other speakers.
 

The meeting is organised as part of one-year-long Centenary celebrations, the release said.
