W Bengal girls rescued from Delhi brothel

Police, along with members of an NGO, raided a brothel last evening following specific inputs that few girls who were being forced in prostitution wanted to be rescued, a senior police official said.

"At about 7.05 PM, a raid was conducted at kotha No 59 and six girls, out of which three were minors, were rescued. Also, two managers Hasina and Maya were arrested. All of the girls were being forced in prostitution," said D C Srivastva ACP Central district.

During investigation, it was revealed that all those rescued were residents of West Bengal and belong to poor families.

They were lured to Delhi on the pretext of providing employment but were subsequently forced into flesh trade, the police said.
