Wage labourer held for killing wife

A daily-wage labourer was arrested from Mandrarajpur in Odisha's Ganjam district for allegedly killing his wife, a mother of two, police said today.

While the accused Ranjan Nayak was arrested yesterday, his two accompices are on the run, said Inspector In-Charge of Golanthara police station, Alok Jena.

Suspecting her character, Ranjn allegedly smothered his wife Ratnamala (26) to death with a pillow on February 17, they said.

With the help of two friends he dumped the body near a bush on the outskirts of the village, they said adding the incident came to light when police recovered some bones and a skull near the spot on February 27.
