Wagon of goods train derailed in Raigad district

A wagon of a goods train derailed at Roha station in neighbouring Raigad district today, briefly affecting traffic on the route.

The incident occurred between Panvel-Roha section in noon when two wheels of the wagon came off, leading to closure of the track for almost an hour, a Railway official said.

"Brake-down vans were immediately rushed to the spot and it (wagon) was re-railed in almost an hour," he said.

Following the incident, Mangla Express was held up for some time before it was given clearance at 1.20 PM, he said, adding other train services on the section were also resumed.
