Actor Mark Wahlberg will be honoured for his accomplishments in the entertainment business at the upcoming 23rd annual MTV Movie Awards.

The 42-year-old actor will be feted with the Generation Award at the prestigious ceremony set to place on April 13 at the Nokia Theatre in LA, reported Ace Showbiz.

"Mark Wahlberg is the definition of a modern day Renaissance Man...In front of the camera and behind -- he's done it all and he's always memorable," MTV's president Stephen Friedman, said.

"Mark has captivated the MTV audience for over twenty years, and for this rare feat, we're proud to recognise him with this year's Generation Award," he added.

The cast of HBO's 'Entourage' would be presenting the award to the 'Ted' star.

The awards show will mark the first time cast members Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara reunite on screen before the movie version hits theaters.
