Festival of lights Diwali may be round the corner, but the Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) is still waiting for good times.

"It is sad that CSE is yet to get the regulator's support to resume its own exchange activities. We are yet to see a ray of hope from the regulator," CSE broker and former board member S K Kaushik told PTI.

"We will continue to strive hard for the comeback and hope for the best."

CSE is the lone surviving regional exchange out of the 17 at one point.

"Sebi wants CSE to close down," local brokers alleged.

CSE has gone to court with the intention to stay afloat.

After a Sebi directive, CSE's own C-Star platform is closed since April 2013 after it failed to comply with the Stock Exchanges and Clearing Corporations Regulations, 2012.
