An 18-year-old waiter was today shot at a roadside eatery allegedly by four youths who were in an inebriated condition, police said.
"Four bike-borne youths went to a roadside eatery near the Delhi-Loni border this afternoon and consumed liquor before taking lunch. While leaving they allegedly engaged in an altercation over payment with one of the waiters named Rakesh, a native of Basti district in Uttar Pradesh," SHO Loni Border Virendera Yadav said.
The youths made a payment of one hundred rupees against a bill of Rs 150 and left the place.

Within few minutes, all of them returned and allegedly fired upon Rakesh. The bullet pierced the right side of his spine, the SHO said.
Hearing the victim's scream, locals rushed to the spot and caught hold of one of the assailants identified as Sunder while three others managed to escape, he said.
Rakesh was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
An FIR has been lodged against the four absconding accused at Loni Border police station, the official said, adding they will be nabbed soon.
