"He is stable so far as his heart is concerned," Pandove said, while reacting critically to some reports claiming Walia's demise.
"He has started responding, there is movement in his limbs. I was in the ICU this morning and he responded when I called out his name and he slightly moved his head, which is a good sign," Pandove told PTI.
He added that doctors were closely monitoring his condition.
"The doctors carried out a scan of his brain to see if there was any damage. I discussed with the doctors about his condition, they told me they have kept him under sedation for the time being, which is a part of their treatment," he said.
Pandove added that all the PCA members including President I S Bindra and other members of the cricketing fraternity and well-wishers were hoping for Walia's quick recovery.
After spending time with iconic batsman Sachin Tendulkar on his 39th birthday on Tuesday here and presenting him with a birthday cake on PCA's behalf, Walia (53) went to his office located on the stadium's second floor and collapsed on his chair while ordering food from the canteen over the phone.
