A man wanted in connection with loot, theft, violence and burglary was arrested by sleuths of Indore Crime Branch police at Devas Naka today, a senior police official said.
One Kamal Nayak (35) was nabbed as he tried to flee in a car with the booty, including gold and silver jewellery, sharp edged weapons, cash as well as appliances used for theft, Additional SP (Crime) Manoj Rai said.
His associate Dinesh, wanted by the police, managed to escape from the car before the sleuths chased Kamal, the ASP said.
A year ago, Kamal was wanted in a major theft reported from a hotel in Bhopal from where he had fled with a booty worth Rs 40 lakh, he said.
He is also accused of being involved in a number of theft and loot cases in Indore, including one in Siddharth Nagar last December, he said.
A fresh case has been registered against him after the arrest, Crime Branch sub-inspector Kailash Patidar said.
