A wanted Maoist cadre was killed allegedly by a fellow villager over a land dispute in Pawdadih village under naxal-affected Gorabandha police station in East Singhbhum district, police said today.

Thumpu Sardar allegedly killed Lukru Sardar alias Navin Sardar last night by hitting him with a stone over a long-standing land dispute, DSP Ajit Kumar Vimal said.

Lukru, who was wanted by police in a couple of naxal- related incidents, has been attached to the group of Maoist leader Supai Tudu, who had been gunned down in an encounter with security forces early last month.

The body of Lukru was recovered this morning, Vimal said adding the accused Thumpu Sardar was arrested.
