Wanted Maoist surrenders

Disillusioned after division among ultras of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, Rajirao Hantal (40) of Fulapadar village under Chtrakonda police station area gave himself up before Malkangiri Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Singh.

Influenced by Maoist ideology in 2000, Hantal had picked up shooting and guerrilla warfare skills and was engaged as an 'area commander' in the Maoist organisation of Motu Dalam and Kukunda Dalam in last ten years, police said.

Hantal was involved in the attack on a launch carrying a police team in Balimela Reservoier of Chtrakonda in which 39 cops were killed in June, 2008. He was also involved in burning of vehicles of a private steel company, police said.

 

He decided to quit the organisation following division in Andhra-Odisha maoist organisation and misunderstanding among the cadre.
