Police have arrested a notorious robber wanted in several robberies in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, a senior official said here today.
Rizwan, 28, a resident of Noor Nagar area here, was adept at imitation and kept on changing his looks and attire, he said adding that Uttar Pradesh Police had also announced a reward of Rs 5,000 for his arrest.
"Acting on a tip-off that Rizwan was coming towards Chhajju gate on April 18, police laid a trap and arrested him. He was a member of a UP-based gang, which used to rob petrol pumps," he said.
After committing robberies in Uttar Pradesh, the gang members used to stay at different parts in New Delhi, he said.
"Rizwan had robbed Negi Jewellers situated in Delhi on two occasions and had committed several robberies in New Friends Colony and Sunlight Colony," he said.
