Wanted woman Naxal held in Chhattisgarh

Security forces have apprehended a 50-year-old woman Naxal, carrying a reward of Rs 1.10 lakh, from the Left Wing Extremism (LWE)-hit Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh.

Officials said the woman, identified as Sukhyarin Yadav, was apprehended yesterday by a joint squad of paramilitary ITBP and state police from Temrugaon village of the district during an anti-Maoist operation.

They said Yadav had at least 13 cases registered against her for allegedly indulging in Maoist activities and was carrying a reward of Rs 1.10 lakh.

"She was later handed over to local police which arrested her and presented her before a court today," a senior official said.
 

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police is deployed in the district for anti-Naxal operations.
