The MPs, Kantilal Bhuria, who is also State Congress President, and Prem Chand Guddu reprimanded the Collector, Rajiv Dube, for coming late for a meeting of the Evaluation and Monitoring Committee, sources said.

The meeting was called by Bhuria to assess the progress of 16 Central schemes in the district.

Bhuria and Guddu had a heated argument with the Collector before the start of the meeting, they said.

Later Bhuria, Guddu and another Congress MP Meenakshi Natarajan told reporters that the Collector had not sent them the agenda of the meeting in advance.

"Dube did not come to the Circuit House to discuss the issues to be raised in the meeting. Also, he came late for the meeting," Bhuria said.

The Congress leaders said they will lodge a strong protest against such Collectors in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh.

The Ratlam Collector will be 'gheraoed' on October 16 and he will not be allowed to leave his office till he express regrets for his actions, Bhuria said.

He said they will move a privilege motion in this regard in Parliament and complain against him to the Centre and also Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Dube, rejecting the MPs' charges, claimed he got late just by a few seconds as Congress workers had blocked the entry point of the meeting hall. There was no specific agenda of the meeting and also there was no instruction to him to meet the Congress MPs, he said.
