Taking an untrodden path, a city-based company is hand holding arts and artistic ventures by providing a platform to young upcoming artists to hone creativity for long term benefits.
The newly launched company could be described as an art incubation project which aims to be a 'springboard for creativity', its 25-year-old founder Abhinav Sree said.
Once a warehouse, the 10,000 square feet studio 'Springr', developed by Springr Technologies Private Ltd, which opened yesterday at Mattancherry, houses a sound proof music recording studio, art gallery, artist residency, movie screening rooms and a cafe.
"This is a collaboration between arts and technology and plans were there to bring international artists," Abhinav, a co-founder of Bangalore-based Innoz Technologies, fastest growing mobile and wireless innovation company, said.
'Springr' is a platform for creativity where it helps the artist to realise their dreams by providing them funding and opportunity. "It is a unique concept never tried before," he said.
They aim at organise six major events this year and 15 Youtube hits in one year. These events need not necessarily be music, it could be any art event, he added.
Their newly recorded music album 'Puttu Puttu' had been aired on Youtube and had been seen by 53,000 viewers, Abhinav said.
The company, which has two other co-founders-- Ashwin Lal and Dhanya, will be taking the nascent Crowd Funding route to raise a major chunk of the resources. "The aim is to make it a sustainable business and create a creativity brand," he said.
Mattancherry is a place of musicians and artists. There are plans to have a 'Mehfils' and live concerts and be a bridge between internet wave and the creative space, Abhinav added.
CEO of Springr Music Sanjeev Thomas, a guitarist, singer, composer and producer, said "when you bring a certain kind of artists, new artists are made... There is need for more space for independent artists to come together."
Thomas, who considers himself fortunate for having played for most of A R Rehman's films like 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na', 'Delhi 6', 'Vinnaithaandi Varivaayaa' and 'Rockstar', said the venture aims at creating a new artist community.
Iris Sidler, an artist from Switzerland who has been here since January 3, said this was an 'inspiring' place for artists. This was a first of its kind she had seen, she said adding she was happy to have been part of the project.
