Water stock available in 91 major reservoirs in the country is at 53 per cent of the total storage capacity and 78 per cent of the levels reported during corresponding period last year.
According to a statement issued by the Union Water Resources Ministry, as on November 26, water storage available across major reservoirs was 83.198 billion cubic meters (BCM). The current stock is 75 per cent of the 10-year average for the corresponding period.
The total storage capacity of the reservoirs is 157.799 BCM.

States having lesser storage than last year are Punjab, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
States having better storage than last year are Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Tripura.
