Goans battling water crisis since the last five days due to the damage caused to a crucial pipeline in a landslide on August 15 would start getting water from Tuesday afternoon, PWD Minister Dipak Pauskar said on Monday.
The pipeline, which supplies water to Ponda and Tiswadi talukas, had developed a leak at Kerye village near Ponda town in the incident.
"PWD workers have been working round-the-clock to repair the pipeline. The work will be completed by Tuesday, after which water supply would resume. It would take maximum three hours for water to reach Panaji," said the minister.
Panaji is amongst the worst-affected areas due to water scarcity.
Several hundred households in Goa are being supplied water through tankers since Thursday.
