A 15-year old girl student was crushed to death when a water tanker lorry hit her from behind at suburban Kolathur, police said today.
Jemima Angelene, a tenth class student, was returning home on her moped yesterday by 8 pm after attending a tuition.
While she was crossing the Kolathur Rettaiyeri junction, a water tanker hit her and the girl tripped and fell down and she came under the rear wheels of the lorry.
The lorry driver Muthukrisnan has been arrested.
