The Wave World Kabaddi League (WKL) got a huge boost today with the Sports Ministry extending its formal support to the event, the first international tournament promoting the ancient sport.
Wave WKL has eight franchisees and is being played in F1 touring format and will be the first Indian sports league across 13 international cities. Wave WKL matches started on August 9 in London and the final match is scheduled for November 30.
Wave WKL aims to grow the sport of professional kabaddi as clean with world class talent and build it as India's original contact sport and the ministry's endorsement comes as a welcome sign.
