WB extends summer vacation for govt schools by a week

In view of the prevailing hot and humid weather conditions, the West Bengal government today extended the summer vacation for government schools by another seven days.

State higher education minister Partha Chatterjee told reporters that they have asked all government schools to remain closed for a period of seven days from next Monday.

He said they have requested private schools to also extend the leave for students' benefit.
