West Bengal Governor K N Tripathi has suggested the state government to introduce a 'Model Code of Conduct' both for teachers and students for a cordial academic atmosphere in the universities, state Higher Education Minister Partha Chatterjee today said.

"I received a letter in this regard from the Governor yesterday. I shall meet him soon and discuss the matter with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee before meeting the Governor," Chatterjee told reporters at the state secretariat Nabanna.

Sharing his views about the Governor's suggestion, Chatterjee said "I agree with his (Governor) suggestion. Such a 'Model Code of Conduct' should also be introduced at the college level."

"The Governor has suggested the state government to set up an expert committee comprising three to five members, which will advise the state government on the proposed Code. I think a three-member expert committee will do," Chatterjee said adding "I shall discuss this too with the CM.
