The West Bengal government today announced a scheme wherein journalists will be eligible for free travel in all government buses and trams.
According to a notification issued by the information and cultural affairs department, the Governor has approved the government's proposal to extend facilities for free travel on government buses and trams for accredited journalists.
The facility would be available in city buses and trams and long distance buses which are operated by public sector undertakings, it said.
