Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government has been "depriving" common people in the state from benefits of the central schemes.

The NDA government at the Centre has drawn up several programmes for the benefit of the common people and asked state governments to take these programmes to them, Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

"However, the West Bengal government failed to do it. It has been depriving the common people from the benefit of these schemes," Naqvi said.

He also alleged that the Trinamool Congress government has become corrupt because of pressure from political leaders.

Naqvi, who was here to attend a party programme, claimed that the ruling party in West Bengal has "tacit understandings" with opposition Left Front and Congress.
