West Bengal's Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Subrata Mukherjee, fighting Assembly polls from Ballygunje constituency in southern part of the city, has declared assets worth 57 lakh.
According to his affidavit filed before the Election Commission, Mukherjee's income for the year 2015-16 was Rs 2.4 lakh only.
The 69-year-old owns movable assets like cash in hand, bank balance, a car, and jewellery, totalling over Rs 17.8 lakh.

The minister, who also has the portfolio of Public Health Engineering, owns a two-storied residential building in south Kolkata which he claims is worth about Rs 35 lakh now and another ancestoral property in South 24 Parganas district worth Rs 5 lakh.
His net worth totals to Rs 57.8 lakh.
His wife on the other hand owns assets worth around Rs 37 lakh.
His educational qualification column shows he holds an MA degree in archeology and another masters degree in ancient Indian history from the University of Calcutta.
