Two West Bengal ministers today condemned the heckling of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Finance minister Amit Mitra by SFI members in Delhi over the death of their leader Sudipto Gupta.

"The incident is a pointer to the state of law and order in the national capital and the central government will have to take full responsibility for it," Labour minister Purnendu Bose told reporters at Writers' Buildings.

Alleging that proper security was lacking near Yojna Bhavan, he said "the attack amounts to obstructing government work as they were there to attend a government programme.

Law minister Chandrima Bhattacharya said the attack might have serious consequences.

"It is unthinkable how the chief minister and the finance minister have been heckled. They (CPI-M) lost base in Bengal, and tried to use the soil of Delhi. This is dirty politics which is condemnable. Insulting the chief minister amounts to insulting the people of Bengal," she said.
