The premier law school notified this order on October 11 after an inquiry, which was launched on September 25.

It said that three students, including two final year LLB students, were suspended from the NUJS for the winter semester this year.

The two final year students will, however, be allowed to complete their 10th semester next year, the notification said.

Another four students, including one LLM (Master of Law) student were suspended from the hostel for the winter semester this year and all the seven students were debarred from participating in student societies and extra-curriculur activities for different periods.

Another student was suspended from the hostel for December 2018, the notification said was signed by NUJS Acting Registrar Sikha Sen..

The inquiry committee was formed following reports of an alleged brawl between two groups of students on September 19 midnight after an event. It submitted its report to the NUJS authorities on October 9.
