WB offers to host UNCTAD meet in Kolkata

The West Bengal government has offered to host the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development's (UNCTAD) global entrepreneur meet to be held in December this year.

"We will be glad to host the global entrepreneur meet to be organised by UNCTAD in the city in December," state Finance and Industry Minister Amit Mitra said.

The state government would extend all support to make the event a success. It would be attended by representatives from 75 countries across the world, Mitra said at the concluding session of Entrepreneurship Training Workshop programme organised by UNCTAD here today.

UNCTAD has decided to make Kolkata the headquarters of the Indian programme which is a welcome move, he said, adding that the city would also cater to the ASEAN countries.
