World Bank-sponsored Himachal Pradesh Forest Eco-Systems Climate Proofing Project worth Rs 316 crore has been sanctioned for Kangra and Chamba districts in the state, officials said today.
The project would not only provide self-employment opportunities to Mahila Mandals, Yuvak Mandals and Youth Clubs of Chamba and Kangra districts, but also help in protecting the green cover of the state, Vice Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Forest Development Corporation Kewal Singh Pathania said
He said that under the project efforts would be made to eradicate the area from lantana weed.
The headquarter of the project would be at Dharamshala, he added.
