The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) will take action against teachers who are found talking for long duration on mobile phones while taking classes in state-run or state-aided schools.
"If anyone, including media, brings to my knowledge any instance of a teacher speaking for long time on mobile while taking class backed up with evidence appropriate and decisive action will be taken," WBBSE President Kalyanmoy Ganguly told PTI here.
"Infact, the Board will not allow any teacher to ignore his/her class hours by speaking on mobile thereby depriving students and it will take whatever action is required," he added.
Referring to reports in a section of the media about the board banning use of mobile phone by teachers in class rooms, Ganguly said "No such blanket advisory banning mobiles in class has ever been issued.
