The younger brother of WBPCC President Adhir Choudhury was tonight robbed of around Rs 1 lakh cash by some bike-borne gunmen at Berhampore in Murshidabad district.

A police officer confirmed having recorded a complaint by Prabir Choudhury, the younger brother of the Congress MP and former Union minister Adhir, about he being robbed around Rs 1 lakh by six youths on a motor cycle.

The complaint said as Prabir was returning home after closing his spare parts shop in the town on a motor-cycle, he was intercepted by the six youths on three two-wheelers in front of Shiksha Bhavan in the town.

The miscreants, who were carrying guns, then snatched his bag containing cash and sped away.

Prabir was soon accompanied by local Congress men who took him to the police station.
