The West Bengal state Congress committee has decided to launch a 'March to Nabanna' agitation programme on September 8 to protest against the alleged lawless situation of the state.

"A lawless situation is prevailing here. We need to protest against it. Rapes, murders, thefts, extortion have become the order of the day in Bengal. No one is safe here. We have decided to protest against this anarchy and will march to Nabanna, the state secretariat, where the Chief Minister of our state has her office," President of WBPCC Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said.

Chowdhury appealed to Congress leaders, workers and common people to take part in this protest rally to show their dissent against the state government.

The rally of the Congress comes days after the Left peasant body's march to Nabanna, where the police had to resort to lathicharge to halt the agitators from marching towards the state secretariat.
