The Women and Child Development Ministry is implementing a Child Protection Scheme to undertake situational analysis of children in difficult circumstances and to set up and maintain various types of child care institutions.
The WCD ministry said chief secretaries of all states and Union Territories have been requested to inspect child care institutions. The inspection should be done under the supervision of district magistrates.
The ministry said it has also issued an advisory to the states and union territories regarding actions required to be taken in case of abuse of children in any child care institutions.
The ministry is also implementing Child Protection Scheme (CPS), and providing financial assistance to states and Union Territories for undertaking situational analysis of children in difficult circumstances, for setting up and maintenance of various types of CCIs.
