Cricket Club of India is "thrilled" to get the chance to host Indian Premier League "eliminator" match on May 28 and would put up "a great show", said its president Sevanti Parekh after the T20 league's Governing Council effected the change today.

"We will be hosting an IPL game. It's formal now. There were rumours (we would get one game), but it was hard to predict. We are fully prepared. We are thrilled and will put up a great show," Parikh told PTI.

The Eliminator was originally scheduled to be held at Chennai's M A Chidambaram Stadium but due to the inability of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association to host a single IPL game this season due to a dispute with the municipal authorities over the use of three stands, a new venue had to be found out and CCI's Brabourne Stadium fitted the bill.

Brabourne, in fact, had hosted all Mumbai Indians' home games in 2010 when the Wankhede Stadium was undergoing renovation for the 2011 World Cup.
