We look forward to be in India soon: Chris Martin

After enthralling the audience here with his performance, Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin says he would love to come back to India soon.

The Global Citizen Festival India 2016 came to an end with the show by British rock band, which was a visual spectacle with fireworks, balloons and confetti at the MMRDA grounds.

The finale started post 8.30 PM and went on for over an hour. The band performed on their popular songs such as "Yellow", "The Scientist", "Paradise", "Fix You", "Viva La Vida" among others.

Towards the end of his spectacular performance, Martin said, "I thank the Prime Minister for letting us do the concert here. Thank you all for giving us the best time here. We look forward to be in India soon as it's the best place."
 

He surprised everyone when he sang "Maa tujhe salaam...Vande Maataram", and later even waved the national flag.

He also sang his own version of song - "Channa mereya..." from Karan Johar's film "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil".

In between his performance, Martin said to the gathering, "Namaste friends, yeh hamari khushkismati hai ki itne khoobsurat desh mein aaye hain."

He was introduced by superstar Shah Rukh Khan, cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar and actress Frieda Pinto.

The Global Citizen Festival India 2016 was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and several Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, A R Rahman, Shah Rukh Khan, Freida Pinto, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha, Parineeti Chopra, Monali Thakur, Arijit Singh, Arjun Rampal, Suzanne Khan among others.
