Ruing the migration of industry from Uttar Pradesh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today said the government is working on a manufacturing corridor which will run through the state and will provide jobs to "crores of people".

He said here that once Kanpur was a textile producing city and products made in the city had "made in Kanpur - made in UP" written on them.

"For the last five years we are working on India's manufacturing corridor-- Delhi to Mumbai, Mumbai to Chennai to Bangalore...Delhi to Kolkata-- which will run through UP and Kanpur will also be connected with it.

"It is the largest infrastructure project in India. We have built roads, provided electricity and water and dedicated railway line only for industries. It will give employment to crores of people including those in Kanpur. And then when the youth of Kanpur will see his watch or his shoes, he will see 'made in Kanpur' written on that," Rahul said.

The Congress vice president also accused the BJP of not only "copying" their manifesto but also promising things which they have already implemented.

"It took six months for us to prepare our manifesto but BJP has not only copied us but has taken several points which we have already implemented," he said while referring to One-Rank-One-Pension scheme which was cleared by the Centre recently.

Gandhi also referred to the Right to Health and manufacturing corridor which his party had promised before the BJP manifesto was released.

The Congress leader also referred to some industrialists who he claimed were helping Narendra Modi to fulfil his prime ministerial ambitions and said irrespective of their support, Congress will win the elections.

"Two or three industrialists are inflating his balloon. But the results will be the same," he said.

Earlier, Gandhi at a rally in Jammu charged Modi of throwing out senior BJP leader L K Advani and Jaswant Singh and bringing in top Gujarat businessman Gautam Adani.

"Advani was thrown out-- Jaswant Singh was thrown out (from the party) and Adani was taken in," he said taking a dig at Modi's governance and development.
