Sahara Force India enjoyed a superb outing in its home race by securing a double points finish in the Indian Grand Prix and team owner Vijay Mallya said the franchise has achieved its goal in today's race but wants to keep the momentum going in the remaining three races of the season.

It was a great result for Sahara Force India as the outfit enjoyed its first double points finish since the British Grand Prix in June to consolidate its sixth position on the Constructors' Championship.

The team earned six points to take the tally to 68, which is 23 ahead of Sauber, who failed to earn a point.

"Like everybody in the team, I am delighted to see both Sahara Force India cars score points in our home race. That's the goal we set ourselves ahead of the weekend and the six points scored are very important for strengthening our position in the Constructors' Championship," said Mallya, who is also the team principal.

"The second half of the season has been challenging for us, but we showed today that we never give up and that all the recent hard work has paid off. I want to congratulate the engineers for making the right calls with the strategy, the drivers for their strong performances, and the mechanics for consistently quick pit stops. With just three races remaining this season, there is plenty to play for and we will go to Abu Dhabi determined to keep up this momentum," he said.

Starting 12th and 13th on the grid, Sahara Force India drivers Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil put up a strong performance to finish eighth and ninth respectively.

"It's great to score points here in India - the team's home Grand Prix and a really important race for us," di Resta said.
